Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How much should I spend on my braids?

With FOS hair you get the best quality braids that cannot be compared to other synthetic braids as they are made of high quality Futura hair, which is soft and can withstand heat treatment. These will last much longer than your previous synthetic extensions.

Here is a simple guide to help you:

1 pack for simple cornrows

3-5 packs for a complete look

5-7 packs for extra length and extra volume

This is a recommendation. All hair types are different and depending on the look you want to achieve; the number will vary.

No, you won’t, provided the hair is attached correctly and you take care of it. The braids will protect your new growth. However, it is recommended not to wear your hair in tight braids for a longer period.

You should also avoid an excessively heavy braid. Choose a braid volume that suits your hair volume and hair quality for best results and less wear.

Putting braids in your hair for the first time can feel foreign to some in the early days.
Once you get used to it, you can start rocking your look!

Well cared for braids can last up to 8 weeks depending on how fast your natural hair grows.
We recommend keeping your braids for up to 4 weeks, to allow for proper cleaning and moisturizing of your natural hair.

How do I take care of my natural hair when I have braids

The first thing to remember is to always keep your scalp clean and moisturized when wearing braids. You can do this by applying oil directly to the scalp as needed, or by using a water-based moisturizing spray that is sprayed directly onto the scalp.

Caring for your braids

Braids require very little maintenance and last longer than many other hairstyles, but they still need to be maintained. Taking care of them will keep them clean and maintain their beauty for longer.

Wash your braids:

You know that your braids should be washed when you feel there is a build-up on your scalp.

    • Apply warm water to your braids until they are completely wet.
    • Shampoo from the scalp to the end. Use a natural hair shampoo. PS: Dry shampoo should not be used as it leaves residue in your braids.
    • Rinse in lukewarm water until they are clean of all shampoo.
    • Apply a natural hair conditioner to your tresses and scalp; massage in gently, then rinse through with lukewarm water until all the conditioner is gone.

Dry your braids:

Squeeze the water out of your braids with your hand; then use a microfiber towel to absorb the last of it; this will prevent lint from remaining in your hair, which can happen when using regular cotton towel. After that, you are advised to let your braids air dry.

Make your braids last longer:

Use a silk cap during the night to keep them fresh every day.

Another option we have is dreadlocks.

Variety is very important to us and we pride ourselves on creating an option for all people
